The Mission

The mission of the Liberation Libraries is to build community by exposing Cambridge residents to the Black and Brown lived experience through literature. The Liberation Libraries will be stocked with an intentional selection of books written by Black and Brown authors, including titles for all ages.

Beloved community is formed not by the eradication of difference but by its affirmation, by each of us claiming the identities and cultural legacies that shape who we are and how we live in the world.
